We manufacture H10 / DIN 1.2365 / AISI H10 as a chromium-molybdenum hot work tool steel with excellent toughness, resistance to thermal fatigue and strong resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. It is designed for demanding tooling exposed to heat, impact and repeated thermal loading.
We supply H10 for dies, screw-production tooling, forging-machine tools, extrusion stems, liners, die holders, forging dies, press-die inserts, die-casting moulds for non-ferrous metals and hot-shearing blades.
Our published working-hardness range for H10 is 30–48 HRC, with tool preheating at 250–350°C. After hardening at 1040°C, the material can reach up to approximately 52 HRC, depending on the quenching method.
We specify soft annealing at 800°C, stress relieving at approximately 650°C in the annealed condition or 550°C when hardened and tempered, and hardening at 1040°C. Quenching may be carried out in oil, a hot bath, protective atmosphere, vacuum or air.
Our H10 steel offers high toughness, very high temperature strength, creep resistance, resistance to softening, fine crystallisation, a uniform spheroidised microstructure and good cleanliness. It is also tungsten-free and relatively insensitive to thermal shock.
We manufacture hot-rolled H10 bars from 8–65 mm diameter, forged and turned bars from 65.2–500 mm, and forged square bars from 50–500 mm. Flats are available from 6–410 mm thickness and 20–700 mm width.
